12 Gauge Monofilament Wire

To get the most out of your poly or steel hex deer fence, we highly recommend installing a monofilament tensioning system.  A tensioning system will prevent your posts from leaning and your fence from sagging with time—this makes your fence unattractive, and more importantly, can cause vulnerabilities that deer and other rodents can exploit to get into your garden.  A run of monofilament at the bottom of your fence line also strengthens your fence against attempts paw or crawl underneath.  The foundation of a strong tensioning system is our UV stabilized monofilament wire.  We recommend that you run a length of monofilament wire along both the top and bottom of your fence.  Attach your wire to line, end, or corner posts with connection sleeves (permanent) or connector clips (temporary), and tighten it for strength and stability with our round tighteners or Gripples.

This monofilament wire is 12 gauge with a breaking load of 500 lb.  It is compatible with our heavy duty poly deer fence.  Be sure that you are using tighteners and connectors compatible with 12 gauge monofilament.
