Back To School Month

Kids may not want to hear this; but August is declared to be Back To School Month; and early August is a great time for teachers to consider talking to children about agriculture and starting a school gardening program at their school.

There are many reasons why kids should learn about agriculture. For one, they will have the opportunity to learn about different types of plants and how they grow. (Some from the ground, others on trees.) Then, they will learn that food does not come from the grocery store, but in fact, comes from years of hard work. Developing a school garden can be fun and interactive. It will teach students to work together to create something sustainable.

School garden program managers will receive a discounted rate on deer fencing from Deerfence.com throughout the month of August. Get ready to teach agriculture this 2019-20 school year!
