Deer Mating Season

Jenn Smith

Posted on October 14 2019

Deer mating season begins in late October; and this is a problem for homeowners. During this time period through mid-November, homeowners will see an influx of deer on properties. The mission is two fold:

1. Eat up fall crops from gardens before natural resources become scarce; and

2. Seek a suitable doe. (Ugh - men.)

During this time frame, homeowners will need to rid deer from lawns and gardens if they want to keep their fall vegetables for themselves and not for herds. They will need to install a 7.5 to 8' foot high deer fence and plant deer-resistant flowers and herbs as a secondary barrier of garden protection against deer this fall.
