Deer Mating Season Begins
Posted on November 08 2018
November is prime time for bucks to...well...get it on with doe; and this has become a huge problem not just for homeowners, but for drivers.
Deer mating season, also known as the rut season, begins in November.
Driving accidents are worse this time of year, as bucks jet across the street in search of a suitable mate. Department of Transportation folks are warning drivers about white-tailed deer in traffic. They advise drivers to not just slow down when they see a white-tailed deer but not to swerve - this can cause injuries to all passengers and even fatalities.
Department of Transportation personnel are encouraged to separate deer and drivers with deer fencing along major roadways to avoid deer-driver collisions.
