Ticks: Red Meat Allergies and More

When we think about tick bites, we often think of the risk of Lyme Disease and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, the most common types of tick diseases. However, recent news has proven that tick bites can cause other health complications including red meat allergies [from Lone Star Ticks]...and even an intolerance to dairy. 

Did you know that 15-20% of individuals infected by ticks can no longer consume dairy products? 

Climate change is partially to blame for the rise in ticks; and it's important for gardeners to remain alert for ticks as they begin planting flowers this spring.
