Posted on September 24 2019

Deer had a bounty of foods to eat from home gardens in the summer months; but now that fall is here, they are persistent to eat as much as possible before winter. In the upcoming months, homeowners will see a rise in deer on properties looking to eat cool weather crops. What will deer in fall? Keep reading to see the answer.

In the fall, deer will eat a variety of leafy legumes including kale and collard greens. They will also eat acorns, corn and soybeans - their favorite. Deer are attracted to other vegetables including peas, alfalfa and oats.

To block deer damage in autumn, gardeners are encouraged to install a deer fence that is at least 7.5' to 8' feet high.
