Pool Fence Requirements

Having a swimming pool provides years of entertainment for families and is most sought after for summer outdoor fun. Several states require pool fencing to keep small children, and even pets, safe around the outside living area. Here is what homeowners need to know about a fence for swimming pools:

According to pool safety guidelines, the top of a pool barrier should be at least 48 inches above grade, measured on the side of the barrier which faces away from the swimming pool. Some states, counties or municipalities require pool barriers of 60 inches. Homeowners turn to welded wire fencing to satisfy this requirement by their state.

Welded wire fence not only looks good on landscapes, but will keep family members and pets safe during splash time at the pool. This type of fence comes in different heights and mesh dimensions to satisfy state requirements.
