Deer Flags On Fences

Ever notice those white flags dancing on deer fences? They are an important fence accessory to have when installing deer fence. Here's what they are used for and why installers should add them to fences.

White-tailed deer have poor daytime vision, 20/100 in fact; and they have trouble seeing the black fence mesh color. To keep deer herds from running into fences it is recommended that white warning banners are used on deer fences. This is to tell the deer that a structure is in front of them and they should slow down before they smash into the fence system.

Deer fence warning banners are recommended to prevent deer damage to the fence system. They are affordable and easy to install.

Installation tips

For placement, tie one flag every 10 feet at a height of 3-4' above ground.
