There are many different fence on the market that can be used around home properties; but some are better suited than others for the homeowner's application.
Here are the top fences on today's market:

The problem with wood fences are that they eventually splinter; and Bamboo fences are not strong enough to handle heavy deer pressure. While chain-link fences are affordable, they are ugly and they are a pain to install. (They also corrode in time.) Electric fences are suitable for bear management; but some gardeners are not comfortable using it against deer.
The best on the list is PVC. Having a metal fence with PVC-coating prevents chewing animals from breaking through the fence and will protect the steel fence from corrosion and other weather elements. PVC fences are ideal for stopping rabbits, squirrels and groundhogs.
Another fence type not on the list is a plastic deer fence which can serve as a dog fence for small, calm dogs. Poly deer fencing is recommended for light deer pressure and can be used against non-chewing animals.
When deciding on a landscape fence, decide how you plan to use the fence. For privacy? For dogs? For deer? For Bears?
