Perennial Gardening Month

Posted on June 01 2018

June marks Perennial Gardening Month, the perfect time of year to plant perennial flowers in the garden.

Planting perennials adds color to gardens and turns bland gardens into moving works of art. Better yet, these types of spring plants come back each year and require little maintenance!

Perennial Plants to grow in June include:

  • Shasta Daisy
  • Ornamental Grass
  • Butterfly Bush
  • Echinacea
  • Hydrangea
  • Black Eyed Susan*
  • Perennial Phlox
  • Hibiscus*
  • Violas
  • Geraniums*
  • Poppies

Some perennial plants are deer-resistant flowers that can keep deer away from gardens. These plants can be used as a secondary barrier around a garden and will help protect fruits and vegetables.

This June, begin planting perennials; and rid deer from your garden!
