Plants To Grow In March

Jennifer Smith

Posted on March 01 2019

High-five for March! Spring is officially around the corner; and it's time to commence growing outside in the garden. There are many herbs and vegetables that can be planted and grown throughout March that are favorites in salads and side dishes.

In March, gardeners can continue planting cool-weather crops including: beets, cauliflower, kale, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, celery and onions. They can also throw herbs into the mix of plants to grow in March such as: oregano, thyme, basil, dill and sage. These herbs are not only staples to have for seasonings, but they are also used for deer resistance in the garden and can be planted inside or outside of a deer fence because deer hate the taste and smell of them!

Enjoy March planting in the garden!
