The United States is home to over 30 million white-tailed deer; but some states are infested with deer more than others. States such as Alaska, Florida, Utah and Nevada see little deer; but there are others that have a heavy amount of deer - so much that deer culls are in-the-works and deer hunters welcome hunting season.

Here are the top states to hunt whitetails and spot deer:

  • Iowa
  • Oklahoma
  • Illinois
  • Michigan
  • Texas
  • Kentucky
  • Wisconsin
  • Ohio
  • Minnesota
  • Pennsylvania
  • New York
  • New Jersey

These states have the highest deer density in the country; as opposed to Maryland, Connecticut, New Mexico and Wyoming. Nevertheless, deer ticks are still a concern in all U.S. states regardless of the amount of deer in each area.
