Why Add Fence Tensioning?

Fence tensioning is one of those fence accessories that not many people understand; but we're here to explain it.

Fence tensioning, also known as monofilament wire, is useful for a variety of reasons. For one, some homeowners would prefer it if their line posts were closer together at 10 feet apart spacing rather than 15-20' spacing. This action will require tension wire so the fence mesh does not sag between posts. Leaving the fence mesh sags puts gardens at risk of jumping deer. Fence tensioning also keeps fences strong when dealing with heavy wind gusts and fallen tree branches.

Fence tensioning can be added to the bottom of fencing; but it is recommended more for the top. When thinking about add-ons for deer fence, consider buying tension wire.
