Why Get Longer Line Posts?

When buying deer fence, it can be confusing why fence posts come a bit longer than what is desired; but after reading the instructions, it all makes sense why fence companies do this.

Let's say a buyer wants an 8 foot fence. Fence companies will send out a 9' foot deer fence line post to accommodate the 8 foot requirement. This is because line posts slide into ground sleeves and lose a foot of height. In turn, this satisfies the requirement that the buyer desires for the height of the deer fence.

Heavy duty line posts are easy to use. Figure out the deer fence height desired and then find the line post that accommodates that height requirement.
